June recap

For the month of June, I wanted to see what would happen if I didn't write down everything I was eating.  And you know what?  I made really good choices, food-wise.  I didn't feel so restricted, and yet this was my cleanest-eating month yet.  Except for the wine.  And cider.  And sangria.  That was really a problem, mostly because I feel like I've been on summer vacation for the entire month.  While I'm in CA I know I will drink a lot, but starting July 24, this has to stop.  Social occasions? Fine.  Every day?  Not okay.  Back to tracking?  Probably cheats and alcohol only.

Also, I haven't weighed or measured myself since May, and I don't want to.  That's how I know I've been making bad decisions with respect to alcohol.

binges/cheats: 2

rest days: 4

grocery cost: $576.65 (with at least $150 of that on wine...good lord)

rest day

eat:
7am: sausage with scrambled eggs
1230pm: 4 hardboiled eggs
5pm: carrots with hummus; tortilla chips with guacamole; 3 glasses sangria

Friday 4 May

low carb experiment: fail

sleep: asleep by 11pm; up at 7am with an alarm

rest day

eat:
1130am: hamburger with tomato and half avocado
5pm: 2 glasses wine; spinach and artichoke dip with tortilla chips; salad with grilled chicken and roasted vegetables; ice cream
7pm: gf bread with butter and cream cheese
8pm: more ice cream

Fail.  Big time.  What started as a nice treat for a friend's birthday quickly snowballed into a free-for-all binge.  Maybe the low carb experiment wasn't such a good idea...

grocery:
$22.46 at Whole Foods (gf bread, borsari seasoning, cream cheese, ice cream, pecans, dried cranberries)

16 February 2012

Thursday 16 February

sleep: asleep by 10pm, up at 7:30 with an alarm

rest day

eat:
1130am: 2 hardboiled eggs; creamy chicken tomato soup
4pm: olives, kale chips, cheese, soppresata, 2 glasses red wine, dark chocolate and brie
6pm: 4 bagels with butter and cream cheese, frozen yogurt

grocery budget:
$36.79 at Whole Foods
$13.99 at Brueggers

My choices after work today were to either go to the gym (on my rest day) or binge-eat. Why couldn't I just have a normal night at home? So. Freaking. Stupid. And now my stomach hurts.

07 February 2012

Tuesday 7 February

sleep: up at 3am (with an alarm), asleep at 6:30pm

rest day

eat:
11am: stuffed pepper
4pm: gluten-free garlic bread with cheese; gluten-free pasta with pesto and cheese; vanilla ice cream with strawberries; 2 glasses red wine

grocery shopping:
$36.44 in unnecessary, impulse, binge foods
February grocery money remaining: $183.14

Lesson of the day: just because a day is long and stressful (being in lab at 3:30am definitely qualifies), does not mean it is okay to binge on unhealthy foods. Thought I was done with this behavior... so disappointed. And embarrassed.
